A yearlong project will begin Tuesday to improve Interstate 295 from Beach Boulevard to St. Johns Bluff Road.

The $10 million-plus project includes resurfacing I-295 and the Beach Boulevard and St. Johns Bluff Road ramps.

Improvements also will be made to  drainage and guardrails, and countdown pedestrian timers will be installed at the Beach Boulevard intersection.

The Florida Department of Transportation says drivers can expect lane closures at night but not during peak travel times or holidays.
