Chef Richard Robinson plans to move his popular Pink Salt Restaurant + Wine Bar to Lakewood, where he'll also open Vevetas Rum + Tapas Bar.

A popular Caribbean fusion restaurant is on the move to a new, larger location on higher ground roughly five miles from its current home in flood-prone San Marco.

Chef and owner Richard Robinson confirmed that he plans to relocate his Pink Salt Restaurant + Wine Bar along with his upcoming new concept, Vevetas Rum Bar + Tapas, to 1571 University Blvd. W., the former home of Gene's Seafood Restaurant and Blue Marlin Bar, which closed in September 2017 after 22 years in business.

"I haven't set a date yet, but hopefully we will open by July," Robinson told the Florida Times-Union.
