The area’s first Slim Chickens franchised restaurant is proposed at Hodges and Butler boulevards in Glen Kernan Park.

Slim Chickens plans are advancing for its proposed Glen Kernan Park restaurant, which will be its first in Jacksonville.

The city is reviewing civil engineering plans submitted June 9 for a 3,220-square-foot restaurant on 1.1 acres at northwest Hodges and Butler boulevards that franchisee Angelo Crowell bought Feb. 13 for almost $1.44 million.

NFL veteran Angelo Crowell is developing the fast-casual restaurant, which serves chicken wings and tenders, chicken and waffles, chicken sandwiches, wraps, salads, sides, fries, kids’ meals, family meals and more.
