EverBank Field became TIAA Bank Field, and now it could become Everbank Stadium.

TIAA Bank Field could get another name soon, and it's one you'll recognize: EverBank.

The Jacksonville Jaguars stadium was called EverBank Field until TIAA acquired EverBank and the stadium was renamed in 2018.

Now TIAA Bank is seeking to rename the stadium as EverBank Stadium beginning Sept. 10, according to a letter obtained by News4Jax, a WJCT News partner.

The name change results from TIAA Bank's sale to a group of investment funds. As a result of the sale, TIAA Bank will conduct business under the name EverBank, the letter says.

Mark Baum, executive vice president and deputy general counsel, sent the letter to the mayor's office and the Jaguars on Wednesday. Both must approve the name change.

The Jaguars have proposed a $1.3 billion to $1.4 billion remodeling of the stadium, with costs split with the city.
