Duval could have new schools superintendent by Jan. 1

News4Jax

The Duval County school district is inching closer to hiring a new superintendent to replace Diana Greene, who retired recently.

The Florida School Board Association, which is overseeing the national search as a consultant, has a timeline showing a new superintendent in place by Jan. 1.

A tentative timeline, discussed with the School Board on Wednesday, shows the district will conduct online public surveys and community forums from now through September. In September and October, the position will be advertised and applications submitted to the board as they are received.
