Salvation Army pays $4 million for LaVilla building

The Salvation Army of Northeast Florida bought this building at 800 W. Monroe St. in LaVilla for $4.19 million for its new headquarters.

The Salvation Army of Northeast Florida plans to move to a new headquarters at 800 W. Monroe St. in LaVilla within the next six months.

The organization bought the West Monroe Street property on July 7 for $4.19 million.

On July 6, the Salvation Army sold its 23,556-square-foot office building, along with a 5,008-square-foot vacant lot on East Duval Street and a 12,045-square-foot parking lot at 39 E. Monroe St., for a total of $2.29 million to JWB Real Estate Capital.
