She's a national dementia and Alzheimer’s care expert.

Teepa Snow, visited Jacksonville this week for the second in a series of three dementia/Alzheimer’s care workshops.

Dementia/Alzheimer’s care resonates locally—about 100,000 people (traditionally women) in Duval County are family caregivers for seniors. One in 3 seniors who die have Alzheimer’s or dementia — both are fatal diseases and caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia does take its toll. 50 percent of people caring for someone with dementia exhibit signs of clinical depression.

Snow's workshops involve role playing, so the caregiver can better understand how brain disease affects their loved one.
