A 61-year old Jacksonville man was struck and killed by a bus Tuesday morning near the JTA downtown bus terminal.
Police say Dwayne Farmer was crossing State street against the pedestrian signal.
The bus, which had a green arrow was turning left onto State Street from Laura when Farmer was struck by the driver’s side mirror.
Farmer was knocked to the ground and struck by the rear tires of the bus.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is ongoing.
