The U.S. Coast Guard says flooding is now under control on an 88-foot shrimp boat that was taking on water with four people aboard off Ponte Vedra early this morning.
According to a release, a Coast Guard crew aboard a 45-foot rescue boat from Station Mayport is continuing to escort the boat, named Sea King, in to a Mayport port.
Coast Guardsmen passed a dewatering pump to the vessel and are using it and the Sea King’s dewatering pump to keep up with the flooding. All four people remain aboard.
The Sea King is expected to arrive in Mayport this afternoon.
