Florida Reveals New NASCAR Specialty Tag

Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles

Florida’s NASCAR fans may want to race over to their DMV offices this week.

The state is offering a newly redesigned specialty license plate for racing fans.

Three race cars rounding the banked turn of the Daytona speedway adorn the new NASCAR plates.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles says local tax collectors and tag offices should have the new plates in stock by the end of this week.

The design replaces the NASCAR license plate first released in 2007.

Revenue from the sale of the plates goes to the NASCAR Foundation, which funds Florida-based charities, and to Enterprise Florida, the state’s economic development division.

The NASCAR plate is one of more than 100 specialty plates Florida offers.
