A high-paying scavenger hunt is coming to Jacksonville.
Up to $8,000 will be hidden in the city on Friday, April 12, according to the Hidden Cash Team, which is a group that has set up similar scavenger hunts in other cities.
Some lucky locals may be able to solve the riddles and walk away with free cash.
The Hidden Cash mystery philanthropist went viral in 2014 after he started his social media experiment in Los Angeles, dropping envelopes of cash around the area.
Within 10 weeks the Hidden Cash man dropped money all over the U.S including Las Vegas, Chicago, Houston, New York City, and Mexico City in Mexico. He even went as far as taking the social media game to Europe, and now the scavenger hunt is coming to Jacksonville.
The first apparent clue has already been revealed. A media group, AK Strategy Consulting, claiming to represent the Hidden Cash Team, told WJCT News in an email, "a viral public scavenger hunt ... will give Jacksonville locals a chance to find envelopes full of cash hidden in Willowbranch Park."
Willowbranch Park is located at 2870 Sydney St, Jacksonville. WJCT News cannot independently verify the accuracy of the reported clue, although the Hidden Cash twitter page does say the scavenger hunt is coming to Jacksonville.
The event is sponsored by the game company, Slotomania.
