Abukar Adan
Former WJCT News ReporterAbukar Adan is a former WJCT reporter who left the station for other pursuits in August 2019.
He joined WJCT News from Maine Public in Portland, Maine. He also worked as a digital producer in television news and a podcast producer at Colby College.
He grew up in Portland and graduated from Colby College. Abukar got his start in radio journalism as a 2016 Jim Dowe Public Media Intern at Maine Public, where he produced a series of stories about Muslims in Maine. He then continued to freelance for Maine Public and eventually joined the team as a reporter.
Before coming to Maine Public Radio, he was an editorial assistant for Colby Magazine and the News Director of Colby's WMHB Radio Station.
