President Biden relaunched the White House's "Cancer Moonshot" initiative. He says he is committing the nation to working toward reducing the death rate from cancer by at least 50% over the next 25 years. Cancer death rates have dropped in recent years; however, pre-pandemic cancer was the second leading cause of death, after heart disease, in the United States.

Guest: Dr. Bill Putnam, medical director of Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Labor shortage

The US needs about 10 million workers to fill our nationwide job openings, but only 8 million U.S. workers are actively seeking work. There are not enough workers to go around for the jobs we have right now. Employers are struggling to find workers during the current labor shortage.

Guest: Giselle Carson, business immigration and compliance attorney with Marks Gray.

'The Grey Area'

"The Grey Area," co-directed by Keagan Anfuso and Drew L. Brown, explores the damaging consequences masculine women face for rejecting society’s expectations. It premieres during the opening night of the 2022 Jacksonville Film Festival this Friday.
