A rash of bloodshed overnight in Jacksonville saw police called to four separate shootings that left six people hospitalized, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

A night of bloodshed in Jacksonville left six people injured in four shootings, three of them within miles of each other on the city’s Westside, the Sheriff’s Office said, according to WJCT News partner The Florida Times-Union.

Although none of the shootings were fatal, the city is unofficially up to 121 homicides for the year after totaling 128 all of last year, according to the Times-Union.

Unlike murders, homicides include justifiable deaths such as in self-defense.

Details surrounding each of the shootings is available in an expanded version of this story at Jacksonville.com.
