67th Annual Florida Folk Festival Gets Underway Along The Suwannee River

Florida Folk Festival

Every Memorial Day Weekend the Florida Folk Festival, the oldest state-produced festival in the United States, comes to life along the banks of the Suwannee River at Stephen Foster State Park in White Springs.

The festival is put on by Florida State Parks and every craftsman, artist, and dancer must have a connection to Florida.

Tom Shed, a featured artist and spokesman for the festival, told us on Thursday’s First Coast Connect with Melissa Ross that “it's a place where we celebrate the fact that you live in the place that everybody else saves up money just to come visit.”

The festival runs from Friday, May 24 to Sunday, May 26.

Tickets, directions and the full schedule can be found on the Folk Festival's website.
