Public school districts and officials in Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties alerted WJCT News Tuesday afternoon that they will remain closed through Thursday.
Additionally, Florida State College at Jacksonville and the Nassau County School District have announced plans to reopen Friday.
Some of the schools are serving as evacuation shelters during Hurricane Dorian.

Jacksonville University and the University of North Florida have not announced when they will reopen.
