The Florida Dental Association Foundation (FDA Foundation) will host its sixth Florida Mission of Mercy event on Friday, July 30, and Saturday, July 31, at the Prime F. Osborn Convention Center in Jacksonville at no costs to patients.

The two-day event, which will run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, will deliver professional dental care on a first-come, first-served basis, so patients are advised to arrive early. The FDA Foundation expects to serve up to 1,000 Floridians at the event.

Patients will check in on site and then receive a ticket with a specific time to return to return for care.

The ticketing system is meant to ensure patients are not gathering and standing in line. All patients and volunteers will also be required to wear masks, except when patients are directly receiving screening and treatment.

Services include cleanings, fillings, extractions, pediatric dentistry, root canals, and a limited number of dentures and partials.

Florida Mission of Mercy provides professional dental care — at no cost — to thousands of patients, through the support of Florida Dental Association member dentists, community volunteers and charitable benefactors. The event is held in a different location each year.

Previous Florida Mission of Mercy events held in Tampa, Jacksonville, Pensacola, Fort Myers, and Orlando have provided nearly 10,000 patients with donated dental care valued at more than $9.4 million, according to the FDA Foundation.
