Waste collection days will be changing November 4 for some Jacksonville residents.

Waste Pro, the city of Jacksonville’s garbage vendor, is making some changes to its residential waste collection schedule, starting Monday, November 4.

“Waste Pro can change their collection days if they feel it will help them better serve their customers and they are doing a reroute to help with service,” said Jacksonville Public Works Chief Will Williams in an emailed statement to WJCT News.

The city cites “rapid community growth” for the changes.

The city has put together a mapping tool that allows residents to type in their address to find out what’s changed. The mapping system will return results that have the pickup dates for garbage, recycling and other types of waste.

The city has also put together a frequently asked questions page that addresses such questions as how to have used appliances or bulk items picked up.

Another change coming this weekend is the switch back to Eastern Standard Time. Remember to set your clocks back one hour when you head to bed Saturday night, November 2.

Eastern Daylight Savings Time officially ends at 2:00 a.m., Sunday, November 3, when the time will "fall back" to 1:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.
