Gas Falls Below $2 A Gallon In Jacksonville As World Crude Prices Tumble

Regardless of the reasons behind the precipitous drop in crude oil prices on the world market, Florida motorists are reaping the benefits at the gas pump.

At last check Monday afternoon, the cheapest gas in Jacksonville was $1.99 at the Love’s Travel Stop at 400 Pecan Park Road.

According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), the average price of regular unleaded dropped seven cents in Florida this past week to $2.28 a gallon.

Analysts say the average price could fall below $2 a gallon by week’s end.

Jacksonville, Orlando and The Villages have the least expensive gas in the state right now.

While West Palm, Gainesville and Panama City have the highest prices.
