The iconic folk duo Indigo Girls play the St. Augustine Amphitheatre next month.
Emily Saliers and her band mate, Amy Ray, met in elementary school in Georgia. Then, they joined the chorus in high school and became fast friends.
In an interview with Melissa Ross on First Coast ConnectFriday, Saliers said they’re both observers of life, but two very different people.
“We write differently, our music is different from each other; I think it gives it a little bit more, like here’s something for everybody in a way - if you dig into this kinda stuff or that kinda stuff. We sort of cover more bases than if we were two women doing the same kind of music,” Saliers said.
The grammy winning duo’s long-running success includes more than 50 performances with symphonies across the country. The Indigo Girls will be at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre Sunday, May 30th at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale at The AMP's box office and at ticketmaster.com.
