Protesters gathered Tuesday evening to demand answers and action on the February shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery.

Protesters are demanding justice after a video was released that shows the February shooting death of 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery in the Brunswick, Ga. area.

The video shows the deadly confrontation between Arbery  - who friends say was out jogging - and Travis McMichael, who told police he suspected Arbery of recent neighborhood break-ins.

Jacksonville criminal defense attorney John Phillips is known for handling civil rights cases.  On WJCT’s First Coast Connect with Melissa Ross Thursday, Phillips said the case reminded him of the 2012 shooting of a black teenager in Sanford, Fla.

“It rings similar to a lot of people of Trayvon Martin. George Zimmerman got out of his car, chased this person down, an altercation happens, African American boy dies, and we don’t have answers.  There’s no video, but here, three months later, video surfaces,” Phillips said.

There have been no arrests, though a prosecutor recommends a grand jury consider criminal charges.
