The 2020 Jacksonville Republican National Convention Host Committee is announcing capacity restrictions for it’s four day August event.

For the first three days of the event - Monday, August 24 to Wednesday, August 26 - it will be limited to delegates only. On Thursday, August 27, when President Trump officially accepts his 2020 presidential candidate nomination, a delegate can bring a guest, and alternate delegates can also be in attendance.

The host committee also announced that there will be events taking place at multiple venues, including VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, TIAA Bank Field, Daily’s Place Amphitheater, and 121 Financial Ballpark. It states “several others” will be used, with some daytime and evening programming and events.

Finally, the latest update lightly outlined expected health protocols.

“?We plan to implement a variety of health protocols in order to ensure a safe event,” the release reads. “This plan includes but is not limited to on-site temperature checks, available PPE, aggressive sanitizing protocols, and available COVID-19 testing.”

This comes as coronavirus cases continue to rise sharply in Florida. The state Department of Health announced that there have been over 300,000 confirmed cases in the state as of Wednesday. The state recorded its most deadly day on Tuesday, with 132 confirmed deaths.

Duval County has reported 14,152 coronavirus cases and 89 deaths as of Thursday morning.
