Jax River Jam Concert Series Kicks Off April 8

The lawn at the former Jacksonville Landing site will be the site of the Jax River Jams Concert Series.

It's been quiet at the former Jacksonville Landing site lately. But that’s about to change.Now called Riverfront Plaza, Downtown Vision has announced a free Jax River Jams Concert Series will be held on the Downtown lawn by the St. Johns River during Thursday nights in April.

The concert series will feature a small business and artist market, food trucks and bars with local craft beer and spirits. Camp chairs and picnic blankets are encouraged. 

CDC guidelines will apply with social distancing and face masks required. Hand sanitizer stations and face masks will be available onsite. 

“Whether you love county, Hip Hop, rock, punk pop, Latin or folk, there’s some great music for everyone at Jax River Jams. Downtown is open and ready to welcome everyone back safely,” said Jake Gordon, CEO of Downtown Vision in an email to WJCT News.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. each week, with the opener starting at 6 p.m. and the headliner starting at 7:30. The line-up will be as follows:

April 8: Country Singer-Songwriter Chase Rice

Set scheduled to include: "Ready Set Roll," "Gonna Wanna Tonight," "Eyes on You," “Lonely If You Are”

With local opener Firewater Tent Revival

April 15: Punk Pop band New Found Glory

Set scheduled to include: "My Friends Over You," "All Downhill from Here," "Kiss Me," "Hit or Miss"

With local opener Universal Green

April 22: Hip Hop artists and Jacksonville natives Quad City DJ’s

Set scheduled to include: "C'mon N' Ride iT (The Train)," "Space Jam," "Tootsee Roll," "Get On Up and Dance"

With local opener LPT

April 29: Rock band Sugar Ray

Set scheduled to include: "Fly," "Every Morning," "Someday," "When It's Over"

With local opener Honey Hounds
