The PGA TOUR’s brand new “Global Home” in Ponte Vedra Beach is just about ready to open its doors.
WJCT News partner The Florida Times-Union reports the $65 million facility is on track to open in February, with an initial occupancy of 25%.
Clark Construction said it turned over the new 187,000-square-foot facility to the PGA TOUR in December.
Once fully operational, the tour’s new headquarters will house employees who are currently scattered across 17 separate locations in the area.
The Global Home features two three-story buildings and a connecting atrium, including a gym with cycling and yoga studios, cafes and outdoor spaces. The office building leans heavily on an open-concept design and features coworking spaces and large conference rooms.
The tour shared video with WJCT News on Thursday.
Local art will be on display when it opens as part of the creative direction for the Global Home.
Canvas Paintings
The tour said twin sisters Holly Blanton and Heather Blanton were challenged to paint historically significant moments in PGA TOUR history. Natives of Jacksonville, they have worked in galleries all over the U.S.
Murals
Four local Jacksonville artists were chosen to paint murals in four stairwells. The tour said their directive was to bring local flare and history into the new space.
• Dustin Haywood (southeast stairwell) creates underwater scenes that celebrate the “beach” life in Northeast Florida.
• Ansley Randall (northwest stairwell) has a mid-century modern style. Her work can be seen throughout Jacksonville, according to the PGA TOUR. She was charged with focusing on the colors and styles of Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player.
• John Votel (northeast stairwell) has a unique ability to paint historical references and he was directed to bring to life significant local landmarks and wildlife.
