ONLY IN FLORIDA do lawyers complain they’re being controlled through microchips illegally implanted in their brain.
Bartow attorney Janice Jennings was suspended by the Florida Supreme Court after she explained her concern about said microchip.
She was ordered to undergo evaluation by the nonprofit Florida Lawyers Assistance organization and by a private psychologist.
Jennings, who had two pending federal cases in the Polk County U.S. District until recently, had been telling federal judges for more than a decade that she was the victim of mind control. (The Ledger)
ONLY IN FLORIDA do people preparing for the Fourth of July usetheir barbecue grill to trap a 12-foot Burmese python.
Residents of a Florida City gated community found the snake in the middle of the road the night of July 3. They eventually managed to move the serpent into a barbeque grill, trapping it inside with the cover.
The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue's venom team came out to capture the animal. The python will be turned over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. (USA Today, Bay News 9)
ONLY IN FLORIDA do pet owners call the cops because they claim their cat is holding them hostage.
Teresa Gregory of DeLand called 911 over the weekend claiming their beloved household pet had trapped her and her husband James in their bedroom.
Gregory asked for police to remove the four-year-old feline named Kush, saying the cat went crazy biting and scratching her owners and could not be subdued.
She told dispatchers that James had locked Kush in the bathroom earlier in the day after the cat began behaving badly. When they opened the door later, Kush began attacking them.
Teresa said she still has the bruises, bites and scars from the attack. (Reuters)
