ONLY IN FLORIDA: Satanic Prayers, Dumb Drug Dealers, And Ninja Thieves

What to Satan, a Port St. Lucie drug dealer, and Joey Fatone have in common? They all make appearances in this week's edition of ONLY IN FLORIDA.ONLY IN FLORIDA is our weekly roundup of the strange, bizarre and just plain ridiculous headlines from right here in the Sunshine State.

ONLY IN FLORIDA is Satan requested to appear at public meetings.

While the Dark Lord hasn't been asked to appear in physical form, his spirit could be invoked at an upcoming meeting of the Deerfield Beach City Commission.

South Florida activist Chaz Stevens has requested that the prayer be read before the start of proceedings at the meeting in accordance with the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision that sectarian prayer before government meetings is constitutional.

If the name Chaz Stevens seems familiar to you ONLY IN FLORIDA fanatics, he's the same man who fought to get a Festivus pole made of beer cans erected at the Florida State Capitol.

There has been no word yet from Deerfield Beach officials on whether the "Ave Santana" prayer will be allowed in City Hall. (WLRN, WJCT)

ONLY IN FLORIDA do criminals get nabbed after posting selfies with stacks of drugs right next to a police cruiser.

A Port St. Lucie man was bragging on his Facebook page about his life as a drug dealer and how easy it was for him to sell drugs — right in front of Martin County Sheriff's deputies.

Deputies say 21-year-old Taylor Harrison took a selfie with stacks of drug cash and drugs, and a photo of a patrol car that pulled alongside of him.

Police took to their own Facebook page saying since Harrison was kind enough to post photos of them, they thought they’d post a photo of him, behind bars in his mug shot of courser. Taylor’s bond has been set at $55,500. (CBS News)

ONLY IN FLORIDA do thieves dressed as ninjas break into the former home of a boy band singer.

Three suspects are accused of trying to break into the multi-million dollar mansion once owned by ‘N Sync’s Joey Fatone. The masked gunmen, dressed in all-black, broke into the Windermere mansion down in South Florida once featured on MTV when it belonged to The 'N Syncer.

Detectives are looking into whether the ninjas are responsible for a string of similar crimes around the state. (New York Daily News)
