Hurricane Irma Approaching Florida.

The 2019 Atlantic Hurricane Season officially began on Saturday, June 1st. And, according to a new study Floridians are more worried about hurricanes this year, likely because four major storms have hit the state in the past three years.

According to the AAA Consumer Pulse Survey, 92 percent of Floridians say they are concerned about the possibility of experiencing another hurricane this year, and about one in five say they’re more worried this year than last. That survey also found that nearly 80 percent say they will evacuate if warned to do so. We break down the survey results with Mark Jenkins, Public Relations Program Consultant with AAA.

And, anyone who’s been through a hurricane, or other natural disaster, knows how challenging navigating the insurance claims process can be. And, that’s if you have the right kinds of insurance to begin with. We'll find out what homeowners should be considering as we move into hurricane season. We're joined by Michele Losapio, she’s a Fort Myers-based State Farm Agent who moved to Southwest Florida and opened her Agency in 2004, just after Hurricane Charlie.
