Several controversial measures related to education are moving forward in Florida’s House and Senate.

SB 7070, the Senate’s omnibus education bill, looks to create a new voucher program that would pay for low-income families to enroll their kids in private school. Meanwhile, the House PreK-12 Innovation Subcommittee advanced a bill that expands the existing Schools of Hope program, which allows charter operators to run schools deemed “persistently low-performing.”

To top it all off, the Senate introduced its proposed K-12 education budget Tuesday.

WFSU News Director Lynn Hatter sat down with reporter Ryan Dailey to recap the day in education at the Capitol.
