Drivers who use the service road along the northside of the Arlington Expressway should get ready for some inconvenience.
Road crews will begin working on the section between Arlingwood Avenue and Cesery Boulevard in about a week-and-a-half.
Florida Department of Transportation spokesman Hampton Ray said the goal is to make that area more pedestrian-friendly.
“We’re not only constructing [a] new sidewalk but we’re also improving the existing sidewalk that is specifically at Cesery Boulevard and Arlington Road.”
Ray said it’s an extensive project that’s going to take some time to finish.
“It extends close to three miles and it costs $2.8 million. And it will take some time. It’ll take about a year to complete. We’re expecting it to be completed in the fall of next year.”
The Arlington Expressway Sidewalk Improvement Project gets underway Monday, August 26.
