Ferry service between Mayport and Ft. George Island was interrupted during part of the Monday morning commute.
A suspicious package was found near the Fort George slip, according to Jacksonville Transportation spokesman David Cawton.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was called and quickly determined the package was not a hazard, allowing service to resume shortly before 9 a.m.
