The Jaguars have one of the worst fan bases in the NFL, according to a study released Sunday by a marketing professor from Emory University.
Using analysis that was “driven by data, not by emotion,” Michael Lewis ranked the Jaguars 29th out of 32 teams, according to our Florida Times-Union news partner.
Lewis used a formula of three measurements: Fan Equity (how much fans spend), Social Equity (how often fans engage with the team’s online community) and Road Equity (how a team draws for away games) to determine which team has the best fans.
The Jaguars were 30th, 31st and 23rd in those categories.
“These metrics provide a balance — a measure of willingness to spend, a measure unconstrained by stadium size and a measure of national appeal,” Lewis wrote in his findings.
