It may only be August but one of Jacksonville's best known holiday season events is already in the planning stage.
The Jacksonville Historical Society has put out the call for builders to start signing up now for its annual Gingerbread Extravaganza.
The annual fundraiser brings together the most elaborate gingerbread houses amassed on the First Coast.

Builder Workshop - Saturday, September 14, 9:00 - 11:00am
Experienced builders will share tips and techniques to ensure a successful building season. Old St. Andrews Church, 317 A. Philip Randolph Blvd. Reservations requested at this link.
Entry Submission Deadline - Friday, September 27
Each builder must complete a Builder Permit Form in order participate in the 2019 Extravaganza. After submiting a permit, builders will receive a confirmation email from JHS that they have been accepted as a 2019 Gingerbread Builder. If a builder does not receive a confirmation email within 24-hours, contact (904) 665-0064.
Delivery of Entries - November 25 - 27, 2019
In order to give builders lots of room for Thanksgiving festivities, Gingerbread Creations will be accepted for delivery between November 25 – 27 at the following times:
- Monday 11/25 12:00pm - 5:00pm
- Tuesday November 26, 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Wednesday November 27, 8:00am - 12:00pm.
Deliveries will be accepted at Old St. Andrews, 317 A. Philip Randolph Blvd., Jacksonville.
Builder Party, December 3, 2019 5pm - 8pm
Builders be part of a VIP invitation list, which will also allow them to connect with other builders.
Creation Pick Up, Monday, December 30th, 9am - 3pm
Builders are asked to make a reservation to collect their creations on Monday, December 30, 9:00am to 3:00pm.
