Dan was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and moved to Kansas City with his family when he was eight years old. He majored in philosophy at Washington University in St. Louis and holds law and journalism degrees from Boston University. Dan doesn't have any hobbies as such, but devours one to three books a week, assiduously works The New York Times Crossword puzzle Thursdays through Sundays and, for physical exercise, tries to get in a couple of rounds of racquetball per week.

Ali Budner is KRCC's reporter for the Mountain West News Bureau, a journalism collaborative that unites six stations across the Mountain West, including stations in Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, and Montana to better serve the people of the region. The project focuses its reporting on topic areas including issues of land and water, growth, politics, and Western culture and heritage.

Matthew Moyer is one half of WJCT's Lost In The Stacks (along with co-host Andrew Coulon), a music program that explores the Jacksonville Public Library's collection of sometimes rare and forgotten albums. Both work for library: Matthew is the popular music librarian, and Andrew works as an e-library specialist. Both are published music critics and have garnered national recognition for their efforts to promote music and alternative media in public libraries. Above all, both are music fans.
