Gov. DeSantis wants to change Congressional District 5; kids’ vaccines; romantic communication; local sports

Gov. Ron DeSantis says he will not sign off on Florida lawmakers' proposed congressional districts, which keep lines relatively unchanged, because of what he calls an "unconstitutional gerrymander" in Rep. Al Lawson's District 5. DeSantis had submitted an alternative map turning the seat into one with a Republican advantage.

The Supreme Court declined to grant DeSantis an advisory option on his map, but the governor hinted Friday he's not backing down from the plan and could wield his veto power over the status quo map.
