Today’s Media Roundtable discussed some of the top stories in the First Coast, including:
- A new University of North Florida poll shows a dead heat between the two candidates in a special runoff election to replace the late Tommy Hazouri on the Jacksonville City Council. - When Jacksonville decided to halt recycling in October, waste haulers had been missing over 4,000 collections weekly the previous month, with yard waste making up the majority of failed pickups. The service is set to return on April 4.
- One year after Duval County Public Schools' sales tax referendum went into effect, Jacksonville residents may be asked to vote on a ballot measure for a million-dollar property tax increase to benefit the school district.
- Gov. Ron DeSantis announced his support for redirecting $200 million in state funding from school districts that enacted mask mandates earlier in the pandemic, including Duval County Public Schools.
