If Rock 'Em Socks sells $17.9 million worth of its Jacksonville sculpture socks, it's pledging to "foot" the bill for a giant Downtown Jacksonville sock statue.

A Texas firm, Perkins & Will, has landed the bid to mold the future of the former Jacksonville Landing location. Riverfront Plaza will soon become a new downtown park. The main attraction is a 151-foot-tall stainless steel sculpture that reads “Jax.” There are others who disagree as it’s sparked a conversation on social media that it says “lerp.”
