LISC Jacksonville

The former Debs Store, which closed in 2011, will soon become a community hub with not only a food market but also various resources for the community. The reopening is a part of the “within-trification” of Jacksonville’s Historic Eastside.

Guests:

MOSH Genesis

Earlier this week, the Museum of Science & History announced the selection of Local Projects as the exhibit designer for the MOSH Genesis project. Local Projects, which you may be familiar with due to their work on the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, will oversee the planning, design and fabrication of the permanent exhibitions at MOSH’s new location, which will be developed at the Shipyards East area on the Northbank of Downtown Jacksonville.

Guests:

The Hotel Palms art camp

The Hotel Palms in Atlantic Beach will host an art camp of a different sort next week. The weeklong experience will host a select group of 10 American artists who are invited to live like locals in Atlantic Beach while sharing their gifts with the community.

Guest: Greg Schwartzenberger; co-owner, The Hotel Palms.

The Move

Toni Smailagic of Cre8Jax has been photographing Jacksonville events, and the people who attend them, for years. He also puts together a list of the best events and places to check out and shares them online.

Local multimedia personality Catalina Selvagn can often be found at these events alongside Toni and is here now with THE MOVE, their picks for this week and next.

Guest: Catalina Selvagn
