The Jaguars are on a roll, and it turns out that more of your money is going to pay for improvements around the stadium.

Jacksonville City Council OK’ed a revised $129.75 million incentives deal with Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan’s development company. The plan is to build a Four Seasons hotel and office building on the Downtown Northbank riverfront.

Khan’s company, Iguana Investments Florida LLC, asked the city to amend the redevelopment agreement first approved in October 2021 to increase the cap on the deal’s property tax refunds, as the project’s cost has risen more than 20%.

What are the ins and outs of this deal?

Guest: David Bauerlein, reporter at the Florida Times-Union.

Struggling veterans

Prince Harry’s new memoir, "Spare," is flying off shelves. In the book, Harry, an Apache helicopter pilot who served in Afghanistan, writes movingly about his mental health struggles and efforts to deal with PTSD.

A local executive and former head of a city agency says veterans and men of color struggle to get the mental health support they need and suffer from higher than average suicide rates.

Guest: Joe Peppers

Jax culinary scene

Dozens of new restaurants are opening across the region this year as the First Coast culinary scene continues to recover from the pandemic.

Guest: Leigh Cort of the Women’s Food Alliance.

National Anthem sensation

Local guitarist Paul Wane has become a viral sensation since performing the National Anthem at last Saturday’s primetime Jaguars game.

Wane started playing the guitar at just 8 years old and runs a foundation, Guitars 4 Kids, that gifts guitars to children. His band, Duval County Line, performs throughout the area.

Wane joined us in studio to tell us about the experience of playing at TIAA Bank Field — and to perform.
