Our Friday media roundtable discussed some major stories from this week. Joining us on air were Claire Heddles of Jacksonville Today, regular contributor Charles Griggs and Mike Mendenhall of the Jacksonville Daily Record.
Among the topics:
- Mayor-elect Donna Deegan presented her transition team co-chairs during a news conference Thursday at City Hall. Deegan says the co-chairs came from across the political spectrum and represent the “beautiful mosaic" of Jacksonville.
- Gov. Ron Desantis announced his presidential campaign Wednesday night on Twitter Spaces, but it did not go as planned. The virtual announcement was supposed to be an uninterrupted conversation between DeSantis and Elon Musk, Twitter’s CEO, but it was overwhelmed with technical glitches.
- Deputy Duval School Superintendent Dana Kriznar will temporarily fill in for departing superintendent Diana Greene. School Board Chair Kelly Coker said that having a current employee as Greene's replacement will ease the transition.
- The famous Florida-Georgia game will take place in Jacksonville at least through 2025. But how will possible stadium renovations affect it? The Jacksonville Jaguars say this discussion is too prematur
