Florida state Rep. Angie Nixon.

State Rep. Angie Nixon won reelection to the Florida House last fall in District 13, covering parts of the Westside and Northwest Jacksonville. The two-term legislator is one of just two Democrats representing Northeast Florida in the House, and one of the leading progressive voices in the state, with national media hits on MSNBC and other outlets.

She joined us in studio today to talk more about what is going on in the U.S. and right here in Jacksonville.

Hurricane season

Hurricane Season started June 1, and Angela B. Lyndsey, an associate professor for community issues education with the UF/IFAS Department of Family, Youth, and Community Science, joined us to give us tips on how to “Find Your Frugal” when making preparations for storms.

World Sea Turtle Day

Friday was World Sea Turtle Day, but you can still do your part to help protect the species during nesting season.

Brown is on the beach daily monitoring sea turtle nests and educating beachgoers about protecting the beach for sea turtles to have the best chance of survival.

WildCrafters
