Jacksonville City Hall. The City Council’s Finance Committee voted last week against funding the position of diversity and inclusion chief.

The City Council’s Finance Committee recently questioned whether a newly created position, chief of diversity and inclusion, is essential. This controversial issue has garnered more attention in the wake of the racist violence that took place at a Dollar General store last Saturday.
