The new uses of off-label drugs

Doctors can prescribe drugs for off-drug use, meaning using them for a different purpose than what they were initially approved for. For example, a diabetes drug called Ozempic is now being prescribed for weight loss. This has caused shortages of Ozempic and the use of alternative versions that are not as strictly regulated.
