The first St. Patrick's Day parade in 1601

Today, we explore the intriguing history of the first St. Patrick's Day parade in St. Augustine in 1601. In 2017, historian and author Michael Francis, from the University of South Florida, discovered this piece of history while analyzing Spanish documents. His examination of 1600 gunpowder expenditures in St. Augustine revealed that they were the first to celebrate the holiday in the United States.
