Prosecutors last week dismissed charges against Virgilio Aguilar-Mendez, the Guatemalan teenager initially accused in the death of St. Johns County police Sgt. Michael Kunovich. The incident unfolded as the officer approached Aguilar-Mendez, a farm worker he deemed suspicious, leading to a confrontation and subsequent struggle. Kunovich died of a heart attack shortly afterward. Aguilar-Mendez faced initial charges of aggravated manslaughter, and the case triggered a nationwide outcry. Today, we explore the broader implications for immigration and our criminal justice system.

Investigative reporter Laura Morel talks with us about an upcoming episode of the Reveal podcast in which she explores the increasing challenges that Kelly Flynn faces as president and CEO of A Woman's Choice, a Jacksonville abortion provider.
