The Duval County jail.

Two deaths from fentanyl this year are one reason the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has moved from in-person visits to remote video chats for inmates at the Duval County jail. We discuss the constitutional implications of the practice, which is now widespread in jails across the country. We also get the latest figures on inmate deaths from the investigative reporter tracking the issue.

Guests:

  • Nichole Manna, criminal justice reporter at The Tributary.
  • Andrew Bonderud, criminal defense attorney.

Then, as part of our continuing local election coverage, we break down the key issues and candidates vying for a seat on the St. Johns County School Board.

Guest:

And, we speak with brewery partner Chris Rudin about his decision to open independent brewery Voodoo Brewing Co. in historic San Marco Square.
