Is Downtown on the edge of transformation? Boosters say: Just wait! We ask: How long? In its annual report on the state of Downtown, the city’s economic improvement district, Downtown Vision, says things are looking up. It’s a message we’ve heard many times before. We ask the group’s CEO what’s different this time and whether the confluence of several major development projects will finally change the story of Downtown.

Jaguars vie for first playoff win in years
And, the Jacksonville Jaguars compete in their first playoff game in three years, facing the Buffalo Bills in a Wild Card matchup with home field advantage. The last playoff victory for the Jags was the team’s historic 27-point comeback against the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023. The Bills have lost their last three games in Jacksonville, including a Wild Card game in 2017. The Jags hope to keep their dominant performance alive along with the team’s eight-game winning streak, the second-longest in franchise history. We recap Sunday’s game and (hopefully) get a preview at the team’s next matchup if they come up with a win on Sunday.
