A political committee that supports Florida Governor Rick Scott has released an attack ad against a woman who confronted him in a Gainesville Starbucks.
A video of the encounter went viral online and was picked up by national news outlets.
The response video by Scott’s Let’s-Get-To-Work committee is titled, “Latte Liberal gets an Earful.”
Former Lake Worth Commissioner Cara Jennings yelled at Scott in a Starbucks, calling him an embarrassment and saying he blocked access to healthcare when he defunded abortion providers this month and refused to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act.
On Friday, Let’s Get To Work fired back.
“Well, that woman clearly has a problem, and it turns out that she’s a former government official who refused to recite the pledge of allegiance and calls herself an anarchist but never mind about that,” the video’s voiceover said.
The response video also provides an answer to her question: “A million jobs? Great, who here has a great job?“ Jennings said in the original viral video.
Scott’s video responded,“Well, almost everybody except those who are sitting around coffee shops demanding public assistance, surfing the internet and cursing at customers who come in.”
The voiceover goes on to say more than 9,000 jobs have been added around in the Gainesville area since Scott took office.
Scott posted the video on his Facebook page this afternoon.
