Tallahassee's Food Truck Thursday was marking its 7th anniversary on Thursday, April 19. It seems the event is as popular with the food truck owners and local musicians as it is with those who show up to enjoy the food and music.

After the weekly gathering outgrew its original location next to the Leon Station Post Office several years back, the event moved to the grassy lawn behind the Cottages at Lake Ella. This Thursday's anniversary bash attracted a large crowd to hear the Sawmill Jam, featuring vocalists Julie Couch from Bedhead Better and Mimi Hearn from Mimi and the Hearndogs.

"It's the 7th year to be able to come out and play in an outdoor environment with kids and dogs and just good energy. It's wonderful!" Hearn grinned as she got ready to jump back onstage.

Meanwhile the participating food truck owners said the event has greatly increased their visibility and regular customer base.
