Climate Change and Property Value, The Future Of the Miami Heat, 500 Startups & Fun Home The Musical

Jesse Keenan conducts research and teaches courses on urban development and climate adaptation at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard. He recently co-authored a study that explored climate gentrification and sought to find a correlation between property prices and elevation. He called into the program to share his findings.

The Miami Heat's season ended on Tuesday after losing to the Philadelphia 76ers. Heat fans are already looking towards the next season.  Miami Herald sports reporter Andre Fernandez spoke about recent remarks made by the team's president, Pat Riley, and what the team may do structurally moving forward in a previously recorded conversation.

500 Startups is an early-stage venture capital firm. It invests in companies in the seed phase to help get them to the next level. The company began in Silicon Valley and has made Miami the home of its first East Coast office. 

Ana Gonzalez is leading 500 Startups in Miami. She joined the program to speak about the tech ecosystem and  the startup scene in Miami that led the company to chose to set down roots here. The company is taking applications for  Founders Bootcamp, a free two-day session focused on fundraising and pitching. 

A Tony award-winning musical is now playing at the Arsht Center: Fun Home. The musical is an adaptation from a book by the same name about a woman discovering her sexuality and her relationship with her gay father. 

WLRN's editorial director Alicia Zuckerman joined the program with some members of the Zoetic Stage theater company that is performing the musical. Fun Home will run until May 13. Find more information on upcoming performances here.
