The November 6th general election just three weeks away, our local midterm election coverage continues in a conversation with Democratic Congressional candidateAllen Ellison. Ellison is vying to representFlorida’s 17th Congressional Districtwhich covers a large swath of central Florida stretching from the Eastern Tampa Bay Area to the western edge of Lake Okeechobee and as far south as Northern Lee County. Ellison is a community organizer and policy expert who hails from Highlands County. He faces RepublicanGreg Steubein November, who we’ve also reached out to and invited on our show. Ellison was chosen by Democratic party leaders of the nine counties included in the 17th congressional district to take over the race after the recent death ofApril Freeman, who had won the Democratic primary election in August.
